Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about UTE, our Solutions, and working with your team.
UTE Essentials
What sets UTE apart?
We don’t hand you another tool to learn. We hand you a finished deliverable that works. UTE’s workflow efficiency experts, instructional designers, and storytellers combine AI efficiency with human creativity and proven practices. Your dedicated Customer Success Manager stays involved, so you have a team accountable for the work and the outcome.
Do we have to learn new software or replace our LMS?
No. UTE handles the build of all assets and deliverables, so you don’t have another content creation tool to learn. Deliverables can work alongside supported existing systems through connections such as SCORM and LTI 1.3, or in a standalone UTE-branded portal. Your existing LMS doesn’t have to be replaced, but we’re happy to offer you a more innovative option with your organization’s needs at the forefront.
How do we get started, and what can you start from?
Start with a discovery call with one of our team members to discuss your organization’s goals. We work across multiple departments that support the overall talent management process at your organization including HR, Learning and Development, and Operations and Compliance. UTE can work from your existing content, whatever form it’s in, including material that needs updating. If you need content, your Customer Success Manager helps identify the gaps, and UTE builds from its core library with your team’s input.
Is multilingual learning available?
Yes. UTE delivers learning in 100+ localized languages using AI translation and voiceover. That helps your team receive a consistent learning experience in the language they work in, across locations. The goal is for language to support understanding, so your people can engage with the information they need in their preferred dialect. Every Project. Every Course. Every Learning Path. That’s inclusion at the foundational level.
How are updates and compliance handled?
When a policy or process changes, UTE handles the content revision. Your Customer Success Manager is your point of contact, and updates build on your existing library, so the work doesn’t start from scratch, lessening the turnaround time. Once your SME reviews the updated asset, your learners see the current version, helping your team keep learning and communication aligned with updated requirements.
How UTE Works
Who handles content creation and updates?
UTE handles the build and revision process. Your team provides priorities and subject matter input, with your Customer Success Manager coordinating the work. This is not another platform where you pay, receive login credentials, and are forced to navigate a new tool in your tech stack; we drive while you focus on steering.
Do we need to replace our LMS?
No. UTE can work alongside supported existing systems or provide a UTE-branded portal. We confirm compatibility and the delivery approach during discovery. We can import your existing content and learner profiles into your UTE portal or provide you with SCORM files for the courses we create for you.
Can UTE support coaches and professional training consultants?
Yes. We help build and customize learning and communication around your content, expertise, and audience, with delivery shaped around your program’s and learner’s needs.
What is the difference between a Project, a Course, and a Learning Path?
A Project is one focused deliverable built quickly for a specific need. A Course is a structured build with multiple modules and activities, designed by an instructional designer with your talent in mind. A Learning Path connects multiple Courses into a sequence that supports a broader goal. UTE helps you choose based on what your talent need to understand and put into practice, rather than the format of your source content.
When would we use a Project?
Projects are especially useful for quick communication updates to workflows, company policies, or procedures. Communications, Operations and Compliance, and HR departments can use them to turn a memo, dense email, or process update into a focused learning and communication asset that helps the message stand out. For example, a revised handoff procedure may need a focused Project rather than a full Course. Comprehension and retention checks over time help your team identify where talent need clarification or reinforcement before a misunderstanding contributes to a breakdown in the workflow or policy implementation.
About UTE
Is UTE only for Learning and Development?
No. UTE supports the departments involved in talent management, including HR, Operations and Compliance, Communications, Learning and Development, and leadership. The work can support onboarding, ongoing communication, professional development, mentorship, and preparation for new responsibilities. We also frequently work with Coaches and Professional Training Consultants to build and customize their content and knowledge base.
Who provides our industry expertise?
Your subject matter experts, whether they’re internal or external, provide the industry and organization-specific context. UTE’s team brings workflow expertise, instructional design, and creative delivery, with your team reviewing the content before it’s deployed across your organization.
Do we need to replace our existing systems?
UTE can work alongside supported existing systems or provide a UTE-branded portal that specializes in adaptive learning experiences, customized reporting, and innovative communication techniques. We identify the approach that fits your organization during discovery.
Our Solutions
Can UTE work with the programs we already have?
Yes. UTE can help strengthen an existing program or build what’s missing. We start with your content, culture, and goals, then identify what needs refining, updating, or creating.
What does the ongoing partnership include?
Each solution includes the ongoing support listed in its table, from platform access and program refinement to reporting and administrator support. Your dedicated Customer Success Manager guides the relationship as your team puts the program into practice.
What commitment is required?
Monthly billing requires a minimum six-month commitment. Annual subscriptions are billed annually for a 12-month term. The ongoing partnership gives your team time to launch the program, use it, review progress, and refine it. A one-time build investment is discussed during your consultation.
Can we purchase ConnectPro Plus on its own?
ConnectPro Plus is an add-on to ConnectPro. It adds AI coaching alongside your human mentorship program, with an additional subscription per coaching agent. We help identify the coaching support that fits your organization.
How do we get started?
UTE starts with a discovery call to understand your team, culture, and what’s working or getting in the way. Then comes a free Project built for your team so you can see our work in action with your content. Your Customer Success Manager guides the process, whether UTE is refining existing content or creating what’s missing, so the deliverable fits your talent pool of today and tomorrow.
LaunchPad
Can LaunchPad work with our existing onboarding?
Yes. UTE can refine your current materials and strengthen the structure around them, or build what is missing. Your organization’s process, culture, and role requirements guide the work.
Can different roles or locations have different pathways?
Yes. LaunchPad includes role-specific training pathways and multilingual, multi-format asset setup. Your team helps identify where the guidance needs to be consistent and where it needs to reflect a particular role or location.
Who provides our industry and organization expertise?
Your team’s subject matter experts provide that context. UTE’s workflow efficiency experts and instructional designers turn it into learning and communication assets, with your team reviewing the organization-specific material.
Is the live onboarding session included in the base subscription?
Live facilitation is an optional add-on. One scheduled in-person session per month can be scoped as a half-day or full-day session around your approved content, group size, and subject matter involvement. Its scope and investment are discussed separately during your consultation.
Elevation
Is Elevation only for future leaders?
No. Elevation supports professional development for current roles as well as leadership development for greater responsibility. The pathways are shaped around the capabilities your organization needs.
Can we strengthen a development program we already have?
Yes. UTE can work from existing materials and programs, identify gaps with your team, and refine the learning experience. You do not have to begin with an empty page.
How does this support succession planning?
Structured pathways and visible development progress help your organization prepare talent for future responsibilities and have better-informed development conversations. Your leaders decide how that progress fits the wider succession plan.
What if we need extensive scenarios or specialist content?
Additional customization for extensive scenario-based content or SME-sourced material is scoped separately. We define that work with your team during the consultation so the content reflects the expertise and application your organization needs.
ConnectPro
Can ConnectPro strengthen an existing mentorship program?
Yes. UTE can build on your current program or create what is missing. Your culture, goals, and existing experience shape the structure, matching criteria, and guided conversations.
How are mentorship connections shaped?
Matching criteria consider goals, experience, skills, and organizational dynamics. UTE works with your team to define those criteria and refine the matching support as the program develops.
What can our leaders see?
ConnectPro includes administrator and leadership dashboards, program health monitoring, and engagement reporting. These help your team review participation and understand where the program needs attention.
Is ConnectPro Plus included in the ConnectPro subscription?
No. ConnectPro Plus is an optional add-on that requires ConnectPro. It adds an additional $1,500 monthly subscription per coaching agent and a separate one-time build investment discussed during your consultation.
Does AI coaching take the place of our mentors?
ConnectPro Plus provides AI coaching alongside your human mentors. Talent can receive guidance based on your organization’s materials while mentors continue to support the conversations, experience sharing, and judgment that make the relationship valuable.
Custom Engagements
Does UTE charge based on the number of users?
No. UTE doesn’t charge per user. Your investment is based on the scope of work and the level of support your organization needs. Essential, Enhanced, and Premiere provide different levels of custom work and ongoing support.
What is a Project, and when would we use one?
A Project is one focused deliverable built quickly for a specific need. Think of a memo or a dense email you want to turn into a microlearning asset with a way to assess comprehension of the material it contains. A Project can also address a focused policy or process update without rebuilding an entire Course.
What counts as a Microlearning Product?
Microlearning Products are the learning and communication assets UTE builds around your content and goals. One Course with several modules typically contains five to eight Microlearning Products, depending on its complexity. Assessments, knowledge checks, quizzes, exams, and reports are tools of measurement. They are not counted as Microlearning Products.
Is microlearning just shorter videos?
Most hear microlearning and immediately think of shorter videos. UTE goes further, creating multi-format learning and communication assets around your talent, their work, and the outcomes you need. Different ways to engage, reinforcement, and measurement over time support comprehension, retention, and application. The goal is capability, not just repackaged content.
Do we need to replace our LMS or learn another tool?
No. UTE handles the build of all assets and deliverables, so you don’t have another content creation tool to learn. Deliverables can work alongside supported existing systems through connections such as SCORM and LTI 1.3, or in a standalone UTE-branded portal. Your existing LMS doesn’t have to be replaced, but we’re happy to offer a more innovative option with your organization’s needs at the forefront.
Can UTE work with our existing content?
Yes. UTE can work from your existing content, whatever form it’s in, including material that needs updating. If you need content, your Customer Success Manager helps identify the gaps, and UTE builds from its core library with your team’s input.
What happens when talent leaves or information changes?
Talent will come and go, but your organization’s knowledge shouldn’t leave with them. UTE builds a growing library of your content, and revisions build on what’s already there. When a policy or process changes, your Customer Success Manager coordinates the revision. Your subject matter experts review organization-specific updates before the current content is released.
Will UTE replace our internal L&D or Communications team?
No. UTE amplifies your internal Learning and Development and Communications teams so they can focus on strategy and track impact. We take the heavy build work off their plate, so your internal experts can focus on what your talent needs and expand their impact. UTE works alongside them as an extension of the team, supporting their expertise and priorities.
How do custom engagement levels differ from the named Solutions?
Essential, Enhanced, and Premiere support custom work shaped around your organization’s needs. Your investment is discussed during discovery. LaunchPad, Elevation, and ConnectPro are focused talent management Solutions with published recurring pricing. ConnectPro Plus adds AI coaching support to ConnectPro and requires a ConnectPro engagement. Visit our Solutions page for program details and pricing.
